Groundwater study Quelimane – 2018

We conducted a detailed and integrated hydro(geo)logical study for the Licuari-Cucuni Valley in the Zambezia province, Mozambique. The main objectives were to analyze and describe the aquifer system in order to propose locations for new production boreholes, to design a monitoring plan for the valley and describe protection measures against groundwater pollution. Within the assignment, surface water and groundwater investigations were carried out, well inventories, geophysical surveys infiltration measurements, topographical measurements, GIS and mapping and theoretical and practical training of ARA-Zambeze staff. This resulted in an integral advice on durable management of the Licuari-Cucuni aquifer system.
